AmeriFlex recruits 17 advisors with $1.4B in Q3, targets $4.9B for year

The Las Vegas hybrid RIA ties its year-end expectation to advisors joining before Dec. 31 and promotes succession planning through Cambridge.

At a glance

  1. The firm said it expects to finish the year with more than $4.9 billion in new client assets.
  2. AmeriFlex, which says it oversees nearly $10 billion in client assets, has built its recruiting pitch around succession.
  3. The minority stake gives Cambridge a direct interest in AmeriFlex's recruiting.

The AmeriFlex Group hired 17 advisors carrying more than $1.4 billion in client assets during the third quarter, the Las Vegas-based hybrid RIA said in a release published Oct. 21. That works out to roughly $82 million per advisor.

The firm said it expects to finish the year with more than $4.9 billion in new client assets. That would beat its stated $3 billion annual growth goal by nearly $2 billion. The release ties the year-end figure to advisors joining before Dec. 31.

AmeriFlex, which says it oversees nearly $10 billion in client assets, has built its recruiting pitch around succession. It is majority advisor-owned and describes itself as focused on succession planning for advisors. Its SuccessionFully platform was fully developed last June, after the firm selected Cambridge Investment Research as its broker-dealer. In January, Fairfield, Iowa-based Cambridge became a minority partner of AmeriFlex, an investment aimed at expanding that program. The firm also cites AmeriFlex Premier+, a financial and transitional wealth planning service for high-net-worth clients, among the offerings it uses to attract advisors.

“Our success is directly connected to the value advisors see in having the resources and support to pursue their goals, whether they are focused on scaling their business, planning for succession or somewhere in between,” founder and CEO Thomas Goodson said in the release.

The minority stake gives Cambridge a direct interest in AmeriFlex's recruiting. Separately, PWD's records list Cambridge as the origin firm for Conte Wealth's $1.6 billion move to LPL in August and Lakewood Wealth Management's three advisors in September.
