DayOne upsizes Malaysia term financing to $7.2 billion as billings pass 1 GW

A seven-lender consortium arranged the senior secured multicurrency facility, which DayOne says builds on the roughly $3.5 billion syndication secured in May 2025.

At a glance

  1. IREI reported the upsize, which the platform said supports continued development of its data centers in Johor.
  2. The $7.2 billion total is about double that earlier syndication.
  3. Since 2024 the Singapore-headquartered company has raised more than $6 billion of equity across several financing rounds, alongside project financing from more than 30 local and global banking partners.

DayOne Data Centers has upsized its senior secured multicurrency syndicated term financing in Malaysia to approximately $7.2 billion, with a seven-lender consortium arranging the facility. IREI reported the upsize, which the platform said supports continued development of its data centers in Johor.

The facility builds on the roughly $3.5 billion syndicated financing DayOne secured in May 2025. The $7.2 billion total is about double that earlier syndication.

Since 2024 the Singapore-headquartered company has raised more than $6 billion of equity across several financing rounds, alongside project financing from more than 30 local and global banking partners. The seven banks arranging the term loan are fewer than the project-finance lenders, and the equity raised is in the same range as the secured Malaysian term debt.

Billings grew more than eightfold in less than two years, from 121 megawatts at the end of 2024 to more than 1 gigawatt. Bookings reached approximately 2.3 gigawatts, up from 1.25 gigawatts at the end of 2025, and DayOne counted a further 1.1 gigawatts of customer reservations; together bookings and reservations total about 3.4 gigawatts, against a billed base of just over 1 gigawatt.

As this publication argued in September, debt has begun pricing data-center construction and concentration risk while equity has not. A $7.2 billion secured facility arranged by seven banks for one operator's Malaysian platform is a large private example of that debt pricing.
