What it does

SoftLedger is a cloud accounting platform for organizations with many legal entities. Alongside general business use, it markets a family office offering for offices that hold operating companies, real estate and investment vehicles and need consolidated books.

The system provides a multi-entity general ledger with automatic intercompany journal entries and eliminations, real-time consolidated reporting, multi-currency accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cash management and digital asset accounting. It exposes an accounting API and open banking connections, can be used as a subledger feeding another ERP, and connects to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude through MCP.

SoftLedger was founded in 2015 by Ben Taylor and Geoff Ostrega and says it serves more than 1,500 businesses in 45-plus countries. Published annual plans run from $300 to $1,125 a month, with custom Enterprise pricing.
