Advisor moves outnumber breakaways 38 to 1 over the past 30 days

In the past 30 days, Daily Network records logged 1,486 advisor moves and 39 breakaways, a ratio of about 38 to 1.

Breakaways were the rarest of the 12 activity types in the window, with only custodian changes (41), office openings (46) and deal talk (60) also coming in below 100. Team liftouts, at 284, outnumbered breakaways better than seven to one. The 1,486 moves average about 50 a day, or one every 29 minutes. The 39 breakaways average one every 18 hours.

The firms appearing most often in the records over the same 30 days run from UBS at 87 and LPL Financial at 82 down through OpenArc Corporate Advisory at 73, Kestra Private Wealth Services at 67, RFG Advisory and The Wealth Consulting Group at 64 each, The Retirement Planning Group at 62, Frost Investment Services and Prime Capital Financial at 54 each, Raymond James Financial Services and The Strategic Financial Alliance at 51 each, and Mariner Wealth at 50.

The firm distribution is flat: UBS at 87 appeared 74% more often than Mariner Wealth at 50, and eight of the 11 gaps between neighboring firms are within five events.
