G42 signed memoranda of understanding with Greek infrastructure investor Copelouzos Group and its own Khazna Data Centers and Core42 units to explore an AI factory in Greece, Data Center Dynamics reported on Oct. 26.
Khazna would lead development of the physical data center infrastructure and Core42 would supply cloud and AI compute. The planned AI factory would combine data center capacity with AI cloud and compute capability. No project details were shared.
Advisors evaluating European AI infrastructure have no project details to underwrite from the memoranda of understanding. The only concrete term is the role split: Copelouzos Group, founded in 1972 and one of Greece's largest infrastructure investors, owns and operates energy, transport and construction assets, so land and power are its likely contribution; Khazna would build the facility and Core42 would run the compute layer.
Khazna has 30 operational data centers, mostly in the UAE, with more under construction and projects planned in Italy and Egypt. Core42 is G42's sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure business, with announced or launched capacity in the UAE and partnerships in the US, France and Italy.
G42 is Abu Dhabi-based and chaired by Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the brother of the UAE president and chair of MGX. Mansoor Al Mansoori, CEO of G42 International, said the agreements "mark an important milestone in expanding G42's Intelligence Grid across Europe." No final investment or timeline was disclosed.
