Private capital market data and research on companies, deals, investors, funds and limited partners
Seattle, WA, USFounded 2007Part of a larger companypitchbook.comNot yet confirmed by the company
PitchBook is a data and research service covering the private capital markets: private companies, deals, investors, funds, limited partners, lenders, credit, service providers and the people at each. Its customers include private equity and venture firms, limited partners, investment banks, credit investors, corporates and asset managers, who use it for market intelligence, deal sourcing, due diligence, fundraising, benchmarking, asset allocation and business development.
The core product is the PitchBook Platform, used on desktop, mobile and through a Chrome extension, with analyst research, market maps and private-market indexes. Excel and PowerPoint plug-ins keep models and presentations linked to live data. Direct data feeds and CRM integrations with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, DealCloud and Affinity are sold as paid add-ons.
PitchBook is based in Seattle and was founded there in 2007. Morningstar, which had held a minority stake, bought the rest of the company in December 2016 and runs it as a subsidiary. Pricing is quoted by number of seats and firm type; a free trial is available on request.
