Wedbush Securities is a Los Angeles-area financial services firm that sells clearing, custody and settlement services to other firms, alongside its own brokerage, wealth management and investment banking businesses. Clearing clients listed on its site include online and full-service broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, introducing brokers, proprietary trading firms, hedge funds and family offices.
The clearing unit handles equities, options and fixed income, including corporate, municipal, agency and Treasury securities. Account structures include fully disclosed and omnibus accounts, portfolio margin accounts and joint back-office arrangements, and the firm supports ETF creations and redemptions. A securities finance desk offers hard-to-borrow coverage, fully paid lending and an electronic stock locate portal. Wedbush is also registered as a futures commission merchant and swap dealer, and clears futures and futures options. The company says its clearing technology is cloud-based.
Edward Wedbush and Robert Werner founded the firm as Wedbush & Company in 1955. The company says it has about 900 colleagues and 100 registered offices. Its wealth management arm employs nearly 200 investment professionals who serve individual clients directly. Pricing is not published.
